Kanduyi's Orphange (Bungoma, Kenya)

This is Titi and I. We made friendship bracelets! How adorable! :)

This is Johnny and I. He is five years old; however, it seems that his growth as been stunted so he looks like he is two. In addition, there is a lack of clothes available. So, everytime we come Johnny is in a dress. Oh goodness! lol We are going to see if we can get him into boy stuff soon! :) I love this picture of Johnny and I, he has the more sincere smile you will ever see! :)

Here is a picture of my little man, titi. He is trying to wink at me! :) How adorable!!!! :)

Hello Greetings everyone! For the past week, I have been volunteering at Kanduyi Children's Orphange in Bungoma, Kenya. The kids are amazing! I wish I could adopt all 34; however, there is one special kid that has grab my heart. He is four years old and his name is Titi, (pronounced Tee-tee). His full name is Collins Wahtiti. He is my little man. Here are some pictures of the kids. Due to vast poverty issues in rural kenya, many children are left in orphanges with very little affection, attention, and support. The sad reality is the resources for these orphanges is staggering. There are no clean clothes, the food is only porridge, kids do not have shoes or flip flops, no toys, no coloring books or crayons, no diapers for the babies, no medicine, etc. On a positive note, Sarah, Lauren, and I decided to bring in our kite (mickey mouse) the kids when wild! We also read children's books to them, and had coloring books available. The kids were so impressed. Lauren even bought a soccer ball! It was great! Overalll, the children are amazing and deserve families. They are true blessings! I pray they will all be given loving-supportive-forever-families!

Asante Sana = Thank you very much!!!
This is for everyone that participated in my trip to kenya! Especially, my family Dad, Mom, John, Tommy, Michael, Jenny, Mark, Jesse, Amy, and Ben! In addition, I want to thank my North High School students for making the wonderful scrapbooks and coloring these kenyan flags. WOW! The students loved them as you can see! As well as the North High School teachers, administrators, and staff, especially Mrs. Bussey! Thanks North High School! :)

Hey Dad and Mom, I thought this would be an amazing thank you for all the support you have given me in going to kenya! Thanks for being wonderful parents!!! . My students were extremely grateful! They were trying to hold up construction paper spelling out A-S-A-N-T-E S-A-N-A MARIE AND TOM, which means in Swahili Thank you so much Marie and Tom....however, the asante sana kind of dissappeared at the last moment. But don't worry, I got more then one picture lol
This is me at the giraffe center. I was told my kevin, one of the employees at the giraffe center, to stand backwards with food in my hand. Then I look up and a giraffe is coming on top of me! lol It was the coolest thing ever!
This is my little man again :) TiTi. Thanks Lauren for an awesome picture!
Here is a picture of Noemi and I. Noemi is a neighbor by the orphange. We found her there in the morning just hanging out. She is about four months old. She is a darling little girl!
Hello Everyone! Greetings from Kenya! I am having a wonderful time playing with the kids at Kanduyi Children's Orphange. There is a total of 34. He is my little man. Oh what a wonderful boy TiTi is. In Swahili it is pronounced Tee-Tee. I love this boy so much! He says he is three, but I believe him to be six. He is such a wonderful joy to be around. :) This is TiTi (Tee-Tee) and I in the babyroom at the orphange giving two thumbs up to all the fun we were having! :)
